In 1973, the story of Horizons began, with a mission and vision to serve people with disabilities who needed residential, educational, and respite services. The Junior League of Winston Salem helped to establish the Atrium in 1989 and Arches in 1992, which continue to provide residential housing, education, and respite service for people with complex care needs. We offer a variety of supports including nursing, special education, physical therapy, active treatment coordinators, nutritional services, psychological services, speech language pathology, and personal care supports that enhance a persons’ unique quality of life.
