Spartan Housing Cooperative

The MSU Student Housing Cooperative (MSU SHC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing affordable housing options to MSU students and surrounding communities. The MSU SHC was formed in 1969 as a federation of existing cooperatives in East Lansing. There are now 250+ member-residents in the 17 group-living houses owned by the SHC, creating a network across Ingham County. Each house is democratically run, with member-residents volunteering their time to improve their house and the cooperative as a whole. Our hired staff help guide and teach our members the cooperative process to maintain and continue the growth of our cooperative.
