KC Digital Media Lab

The Kansas City Digital Media Lab aims to empower local teens to create a life of meaning by providing a participatory and experiential learning environment at the Kansas City Public Library with the specific goal to transform teens into content producers rather than content consumers. As content producers of original digital media and stories, coding, technology and robotics with the help of engaged mentors, Kansas City teens can then connect their new skills to academic and professional opportunities. The Kansas City Digital Media Lab is an initiative of the Kansas City Public Library, It is free and open to youth ages 13-19.KCDML is part of a national movement to use Connected Learning and HOMAGO (Hanging Out, Messing Around, Geeking Out) principles to engage our country’s youth in creative, pertinent, and powerful ways.
