Mission Be

Mission Be is a Not for Profit Organization implementing mindfulness within schools and communities around the world. Our 501(c)(3) sponsor is September’s Mission, the organization which spearheaded the 9/11 Memorial. 

Mission Be is designed to create positive lasting cultural changes for children in their school community with the goal of building children’s inner-resilience to trauma and stress, and supporting academic growth, social emotional literacy, drug prevention, nonviolence and the cultivation of compassion. Our program also develops executive function skills by providing children tools to be present, and increase focus and concentration.

We have taught children in schools from Babylon, NY to the Green School in Bali. Mission Be's mindfulness education program incorporates group discussions, reflective writing, collaborative projects, and independent work. Our curriculum is unique in that it culminates in a Mindful Art Heroes Project which has the opportunity to be displayed at the VA Veteran’s Hospital and distributed to veterans, and a School-Wide Mindful Interactive Assembly Day where the entire school comes together with live music for mindfulness practice. The assembly supports the culture of an overall mindful environment where students give testimony on how mindfulness has helped or inspired them.
