The mission of the Caribbean American Poetry Association is to advance Caribbean poetry in the United States; promote the work of Caribbean-American poets; and, bring Caribbean-American poetry to the widest possible audiences.

The Caribbean American Poetry Association creates opportunities and participates in events that increase awareness about Caribbean and African-American culture. These events include poetry forums, open mics, poetry readings, poetry festivals, and other related activities.
