Our Story

Nestled in the heart of the Shuswap, where mountains meet lakes and communities are woven together with care, the Shuswap Children’s Association began with a simple belief: every child deserves a place to belong, to be seen, and to thrive.

Since our beginning, we’ve grown alongside the families we serve. We’ve sat on floors building block towers, cheered on small triumphs, and walked hand-in-hand with parents navigating both joyful milestones and uncertain moments. Our work is grounded in trust, kindness, and a deep respect for the wisdom each family brings to the journey.

At the core of everything we do is this purpose: to support all children, youth, and their families by providing safe, welcoming and community informed programs and services that reflect the unique needs of our community. Whether it’s early childhood intervention, play-based learning, or youth and family services, we offer safe, caring spaces where every- one is invited to grow—just as they are.

We believe that families know their childrenbest, and we stand besidethem, not in front. Our approach is family-centered, friendly, and never pretentious. We celebrate differences and work in close partnership with parents, caregivers, community professionals, and volunteers who share our vision of a stronger, more supportive Shuswap.
