The GO Project promotes educational equity by leveraging the resources of the community to close the opportunity gap for under-resourced families who have students that are struggling in the city’s highest need schools. GO currently serves 720 student from Lower Manhattan and Brooklyn public schools. Students attend program on Saturdays during the school year, as well as for 5 weeks in the summer. Volunteers work with the classroom teachers to implement lessons and offer the students individualized and small group support. Volunteers are the heart of the GO Project. Working together with other GO staff, the volunteers can help change the students' perception of learning and school.
