Acerca de

At the end of 2009 we founded Mi Casa en Ipauratu to help the people of the local village, Paluato. Believing education is key to a good future, we constructed a pre-school. Over the years the foundation extended its activities. We now assist families in the villages Paluato, Guaimaral and Galapa. Many of them live below the poverty line. Through education and value-based entertainment we work to improve their quality of life. At this moment we focus on toddlers, children with special needs, youth and elderly people. We work with local employees, long and short term volunteers and interns.

This is how our volunteers contribute to our programs. If you´re interested, just email us. If you´re looking for an internship, check out our internship positions or email us with your wishes and ideas.

Centros de accion Infantil: 15 toddlers (2-4 yrs old) attend our pre-school. The volunteer helps the teacher by playing with the kids as well as teaching basic hygiene, manners and skills like counting and speach, including English.

M’Integro and Sumate: the foundation is strongly concerned with children with special needs. These kids risk becoming outcasts because they can’t attend a normal school. Therefore the foundation founded a school for kids with special needs. Volunteers help the teacher by teaching, playing and giving structure. Some kids are too handicapped to attend the school. These kids are visited once a week by the teacher and the volunteers.

Club D’Mentes: a group of youth from the nearby village comes to the foundation to learn English, leadership skills and to get to know other cultures. Volunteers prepare and undertake activities for and with them. The volunteers are admired and inspire the youth.

Attencion social integral adultos mayores: in an elderly home in the nearby village volunteers play games with the elderly, make handicrafts and kids from the area pass by to practice English. This program makes the elderly feel part of society and makes them productive (they sell the handicrafts they make).

Va pa esa: the volunteer assists the football trainer in training children and youth that can’t afford a membership of an official school. They focus on football skills, as well as on manners and values that belong to sports and games.

Gardening, painting and maintenance: there is always work to do at the finca. Constructing a vegetable garden, decorating the constructions with paintings, improving the road etc.

Or you can help us realise one of the many programs we dream of: recycling, animal welfare, drugs, alcohol and teenage pregnancy prevention, English for all,  etcetera. We are happy with any knowledge or skill that contributes to our community.
