Philip Cortez for Texas State Representative

Philip Cortez, a candidate for Texas State Representative in District 117 is seeking volunteers and interns that can assist his staff with a range of responsibilities.

Philip has always been a leading voice in the San Antonio community. In 2007, he was elected to the San Antonio City Council with 71% of the vote, where he represented District 4. He was re-elected in 2009with 78% of the vote. As Councilman, he focused on the development of District 4 neighborhoods and on improvement projects citywide. Philip fought to improve police and fire departments, clean up parks, and modernize libraries throughout his district. Mayor Julian Castro selected Philip to serve as chairman of the Audit, Infrastructure and Growth Committees, President of the San Antonio Housing Trust Public Facility Corporation, and as a member of the Governance committee.

High school students, college students, and recent graduates are welcome to apply. Morning and afternoon shifts are available. Dates are negotiable.

Interns are needed to help out with basic office duties, phone banks, block walking, and assisting Campaign staff. Interns would work directly with all levels of campaign staff on important tasks and would recieve invaluable experience on a State of Texas race.
