Community Counseling Solutions

  • Misión

Providing dynamic, progressive, and diverse supports to improve the well-being of our communities.

    Acerca de

Community Counseling Solutions administers the Corporation for National and Community Service's AmeriCorps Seniors Foster Grandparent and Senior Companion programs in Central and Eastern Oregon. Volunteers aged 55+ and those from low-income backgrounds provide invaluable services addressing community needs in youth education and elder companionship.

Foster Grandparents focuses on children with deficient academic skills, aiming to help youngsters improve academically. They serve as tutors and mentors, providing assistance, encouragement, and support. Service takes place in schools, Daycare centers, Head Start, and other settings.

Senior Companions serve as companions to isolated seniors who could benefit from a friendly visit, transportation, or help with shopping. Clients are referred by social service agencies and paired with a volunteer. Service takes place in the client's home or in the community with or for the client.

We ask that you serve at least 5 hours a week, but most serve an average of 20 - 40 hours per week (maximum of 40 hours per week, and no more than 8 hours per day). AmeriCorps Seniors volunteers receive a small, non-taxable monthly stipend, mileage reimbursement, and a meal benefit. We offer 20 hours of orientation training, with 24 hours of in-service training throughout the year.
