More than 70 years ago, AFS was founded by WWI volunteer ambulance drivers as a means for creating a more just and peaceful world through greater intercultural understanding. They believed that young people could create real change by broadening their horizons and learning more about the diverse world in which they live. Today, this mission is more important than ever.
As an AFS volunteer, you can help to create and foster meaningful connections with students, families, and schools in your area. Explore ways to join our worldwide volunteer community no matter what your calendar looks like.
