The Citywide Education Council for District 75 is comprised of parents with children attending District 75 schools and programs. We are officially elected advocates who are passionately committed to serving the students and parents of our district by addressing their issues and needs.

We promote transparency as well as evoke and engage conversation and action on education, instruction, inclusion, transition, transportation, employment and related therapy and services. We foster individual’s independence, opportunities and emphasize dignity and respect for all children. 

The Citywide Education Council for District 75 receive information on matters affecting the provision of special education services to students. The council, in turn must consult with a wider community of parents and comment on citywide special education policy. Our meetings will be open to the public, attended by the Superintendent and will allow the members of the community to be heard on educational issues.

 The Citywide District 75 Council also issue an annual report on the effectiveness of special education services and make recommendations on how to improve them. To be effective, the council will work to establish a productive working relationship with the superintendent of District 75.  

 The Citywide Education Council for District 75 holds a Public Calendar Meeting every 3rd Wednesday of the month. Flyers are distributed to each District 75 School for the students to take home. Since District 75 serves all five boroughs, meetings sites rotate from borough to borough each month. Translation Service are Provided. Translation in Spanish is provided during our meetings. If you should need translations in another language please contact the office two weeks before the meeting.  We continue to bring to the forefront:

  • The Issues of adequate space within all newly built DOE School Buildings.
  • Annual input in the Five Year Capital Plan.
  • Increasing inclusion classes.
  • Equitable sharing of space.
  • Respectability for our students.
  • Career opportunities.
  • Expand the numbers of students to graduate with an academic diploma.
  • Students with disabilities receive their fair share within the DOE.
