Made for Me Books

Made for Me Books (MFMB) is a not-for-profit organisation working to get a more diverse books into young people's homes. We currently center our work in and around Harlem focusing on providing free books to students in grades K through 12th. Our diversity features Black and BIPOC stories, histories and authors.

Diversity in books helps all young people see themselves, their family and their community reflected. It also provides a window for all readers to learn about their neighbors' cultures, identities and experiences. By offering a diversity of stories for young people, we build more confident and socially conscious communities that embrace all of our unique experiences.

BIPOC books and histories are being banned and revised in ways that hide the full story of America and the diversity of what it means to be American.
