Safe States Alliance

Safe States Alliance is a national non-profit organization and professional association whose mission is to strengthen the practice of injury and violence prevention. Formed in 1993, Safe States Alliance is the only national non-profit organization comprised of public health injury and violence prevention professionals representing all U.S. states and territories. Our diverse membership represents more than 650 individuals and organizations from state, local and tribal health departments, universities, hospitals, and public health partner organizations. Safe States uses a public health approach to preventing injuries and violence before they occur. Our policy priorities address a host of issues, including suicide prevention, opioid overdose, transportation safety, firearm violence prevention and health equity.
