Miller Hospice strives to help those dealing with life limiting illness,"focus on life" while retaining dignity and integrity of self.

The Volunteer Coordinator recruits, trains, and retains a corp of volunteers that are able to provide direct patient care and indirect patient care services. An example of direct care is a volunteer that will actually sit with the patient allowing the caregiver to run errands, rest or do a leisure activity knowing that their loved one is in capable hands of a well trained volunteer. Indirect patient care can be administrative where the volunteers assist paid staff with their daily duties like inputing information into the computer system, shredding documents, making legal packets or answering the phone. Indirect volunteers can also make crafts, organize fundraisers and volunteer their services for a nursing facility or a patient home where either painting, maintenance or perhaps lawn care is needed.
