The Carey Institute for Global Good is dedicated to making a better world by contributing to a strong, educated and just society.The Carey Institute is located in the historic hamlet of Rensselaerville, New York – a community of farmers, writers, artists and civic advocates located a stunning two-and-a-half hour drive north from New York City through the Hudson Valley. Nestled on a 100-acre campus in the heart of a pristine nature reserve, we offer an inspiring place to convene and advance the work of journalists, policy makers, artists, agricultural innovators, entrepreneurs and other change makers – who seek sustainable solutions to local and global challenges.We see a world that is irrevocably interconnected. Local communities feel the impacts of what happens across the globe. Building on our communities’ intellectual and social capital, the Carey Institute works with local and international partners to achieve our mission through residency programs and initiatives in nonfiction, sustainable communities, education and art and music.
