Art on Alberta

  • Acerca de

For more than a decade, Art on Alberta (AoA) has been a fixture in our community, providing education and outreach to a wide ranging audience in order to foster understanding and appreciation of all forms of art. Our mission is to promote the Alberta Art District's distinct cultural identity through art and educational activities.

Art on Alberta is the author of RED ROVER, a 1960s teardrop trailer that serves as a mobile art gallery. Each month the trailer presents works from local artists-- which premiere on Alberta Street's Last Thursday-- and travels to locations around the Alberta Arts District and the broader Portland arts community. We are happy to have RED ROVER used as an installation space, a gallery, a tool for art education, and a vehicle to bring art to the community in an unconventional way.

Established as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in 2000 to meet the cultural and coordination needs of the arts-related organizations emerging on Portland’s NE Alberta Street at the center of the Alberta Arts District—a unique neighborhood with an emerging voice in the Portland art community—this small but mighty nonprofit organization has a dedicated volunteer board focused on activities and events that support the organization’s unique mission.
