The Marriott Foundation for People with Disabilities was established in 1989 by the family of J. Willard Marriott, founder of Marriott International, to foster the employment of young people with disabilities. All of the Foundation's resources are directed to the operation and expansion of "Bridges. . . from school to work." The Foundation is a not-for-profit organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. The Foundation’s Bridges programs are funded in part by grants from the U.S. Department of Labor and the U.S. Department of Education.
