First piloted in 2019, Earth Day Oregon was established for the purposes of increasing donations to Oregon nonprofits whose work advances Sustainable Development Goals, and fostering connections between nonprofits, businesses, and communities. Initially operated as a community initiative, the campaign later found fiscal sponsorship through SAGE (Senior Advocates for Generational Equity), and is currently in the process of forming an operating foundation.

Earth Day Oregon aims to direct unrestricted donations and attention to the Nonprofit Partners, in order to support their missions.
Earth Day Oregon has been volunteer-run since inception, with support from contracted Social Media and PR Consultants.
