Larchmont Schools was founded in 2004 by a group of parents with a dream of an inspiring, diverse, progressive neighborhood school that would rival the best public and private schools in Los Angeles. Since then, we have grown and now serve over 1,400 students K-12, having graduated our first class of seniors in the spring of 2016. Larchmont Schools is guided by a constructivist learning theory in the development of an inquiry based, project-based, integrated curriculum to serve a diverse student body. We foster creativity and academic excellence; our students learn with and from each other in an experience-centered, inquiry-based learning environment. With participation from our entire community, including strong parental involvement, we strive to instill in each student a dedication to improving the world we inhabit. With a student population reaching 40% Free/Reduced Lunch eligible and 60% students of color, Larchmont Schools is one of the most diverse and highest achieving public schools in the city.
