Through the Rutgers Cooperative Extension, Bergen County 4-H seeks to engage youth in hands-on learning activities, either through classroom instruction, afterschool programs, camps or clubs. 4-H is a community of young people across America who are learning leadership, citizenship and life skills. The Bergen County 4-H Youth Development programs offer everyone in grades k-13 the opportunity to explore themes of science, the arts, social responsibility and community. We focus on hands-on learning and activities that are kid-driven to ensure that learning is meaningful and connected to our world.
Volunteers give their time, usually a few hours once or twice a month, and act as guides to help kids discover new things about themselves or the world they live in. Any interest can be culticated into a club! This is a low-investment, high yeild opportunity to connect kids with caring adults in their own community.
