Clausen House

The mission of Clausen House is to create opportunities for adults with developmental disabilities to gain competency, develop relationships and join the community with increasing command over their own lives.

We provide residential services, independent and supported living, supported employment, adult education, and social recreation. We celebrate the diversity of the Bay Area and work toward reflecting this diversity throughout our organization.

As a pioneer in serving people with developmental disabilities, Clausen House is proud to have helped change public beliefs and perceptions. Our clients are an asset to the community, rather than a "needy" population. They've discovered ways of giving back to the community as good neighbors, employees, and volunteers.

At Clausen House, our core belief is that every human being is endowed with unique potential that is theirs to develop. We encourage our clients to make the most of their gifts and abilities, live up to their individual responsibilities, and become integrated into the community at large.
