Sierra Nevada Ballet has
been performing in Northern Nevada since 2001. Currently the
organization has an artistic staff of 29 dancers and 10 Trainees, a
professional teaching staff, a production staff of five, and an
administrative staff of 3. Up to 30 volunteers serving more than 200
hours per year enable Sierra Nevada Ballet to entertain more than 10,000
residents and tourists annually including 4,000 school children. Sierra
Nevada Ballet receives funding for its educational outreach and public
performances from a wide range of institutions and donors. SNB is one of
only four arts organizations in the state to receive a Challenge
America grant from the National Endowment for the Arts for 2015.
Sierra Nevada Ballet offers a full season of performances from May
through December in an 800-square mile service region extending from
northeastern California to northwestern Nevada. We offer a professional
Academy of Dance, training students in classic ballet utilizing the
American Ballet Theater’s nationally recognized national training
curriculum. SNB serves a critical need in the region and has grown in
popularity and in artistry over its first fourteen years. The Sierra
Nevada Ballet Board has approved a ten-year plan to include the
employment of its dancers and staff for an extended contract period of
10 months per year
