Propeller: A Force for Social Innovation

Propeller is a 501(c)3 non-profit dedicated to supporting social innovation in New Orleans. We incubate early-stage ventures, both for-profit and non-profit, who have environmental or social missions. We engage both grassroots innovators and high-level policymakers to achieve wide-scale change within our community. Our target sectors include: Healthy Food Access, Criminal Justice, Coastal Erosion, Blight, Economic Development, etc.

Propeller assesses the New Orleans landscape for the greatest areas of need and roadblocks to change. To fill these gaps, we recruit, accelerate, and scale the innovative solutions of community members to create measurable, systemic change for New Orleans. Our 1o-month Social Venture Accelerator connects innovators with mentorship, technical assistance, access to funding, and policy support. Our double-bottom line propels early-stage ventures towards achieving financial and social-impact success.
