Children's Scholarship Fund

While efforts are underway to improve education options, Children’s Scholarship Fund (CSF) is providing low-income children with immediate access to a quality education. In fact, since our inception in 1998, CSF has invested more than $1 billion in the education of more than 200,000 children, including more than 40,000 in New York City, encouraging them to reach their full potential.

Key to our success is strong family involvement, which is rooted in the financial contribution required of all families. Specifically, every family is required to pay a portion of their tuition, ensuring they are fully invested and empowered in their children’s education and that a CSF scholarship is truly a hand-up, not a hand-out. Also, families are free to choose the school their child attends and can always transfer a CSF scholarship if they are unhappy with their chosen school.

This school year, because of the generosity of our donors, the efforts of our partner programs nationwide, and the sacrifices made by the families themselves, more than 33,900 low-income children across the country are attending private schools on a CSF scholarship, including more than 7,000 children in New York City.
