America SCORES inspires urban youth to lead healthy lives, be engaged students, and have the confidence and character to make a difference in the world.
America SCORES Cleveland utilizes a team-based learning approach that takes place in a safe and trusting after-school and summer environment. The sport of soccer is used as the catalyst to target social-emotional learning, build literacy skills, develop healthy habits, and empower youth to become more academically and civically engaged. SCORES’ creative strategy for growth now provides over 1,500 Cleveland youth with 30 weeks of after-school and summer programming. These participants are able to show measurable gains in self-confidence, positive decision-making, literacy and communication skills, fitness levels, school attendance, and classroom engagement.
