The National Mental Health Association, through its national office and more than 340 affiliates nationwide, is dedicated to improving the mental health of all individuals and achieving victory over mental illnesses.
Founded in 1909 by Clifford W. Beers, a former psychiatric patient, NMHA is the nation's only citizen volunteer advocacy organization dedicated to addressing all aspects of mental health and mental illnesses.
NMHA accomplishes its mission as a force for social change through: Advocacy, Prevention, Information and Referral, Public Education, and your help.
