Good Food Collaborative

  • Acerca de

Good Food Collaborative was formed in the spring of 2021. Throughout our short history, we have been focused on helping those that are food insecure, promoting the use of whole foods and cooking together as a family, and demonstrating to people that you can grow your own food. Our signature programs—the Mobile Food Pantry, Kids Cook and the Victory Gardens—are the vehicles we use to reach people. In December of 2021, we received our official 501c3 status from the IRS.

We have a small but committed staff and a very large group of community volunteers that support our work. Our volunteers support us both with their own time and with funds needed to keep the programs running. Without the community’s support, we would not exist.

Every two weeks, we deliver food to almost four hundred households in McDonough County serving well over a thousand people. The people we serve are elderly, disabled, veterans, single parents and those just struggling to feed their families. Each week we deliver canned goods, pasta, milk, bread, meat, and produce directly to the door of people who are fighting food insecurity.

Our Kids Cook program teaches kids how to cook with whole foods. Throughout the 8-week program, we give kids the food and instruction to make meals to share with their families.

Our Victory Garden program promotes gardening to novice gardeners so they can learn to grow some of their own food
