Serving Our Seniors (SOS) is a community-based nonprofit committed to preserving the independence and well-being of older adults living in Northeast Tarrant County. Through a powerful volunteer-driven model, we deliver critical services to seniors—at no cost—ensuring they can age safely, and with dignity, while staying connected to the community they call home.
Our mission is to provide help, hope, and healing through three core programs:
Transportation – Help in MotionOur transportation program eliminates one of the greatest barriers to independence by offering rides to routine medical appointments, pharmacies, grocery stores, banks, and other essential errands. Volunteers provide not just transportation, but peace of mind and consistent support.
Helping Hands – Hope at HomeBy offering lawn care, home repairs, annual safety checks, and the construction or installation of wheelchair ramps and safety grab bars, we help seniors maintain their homes—and their independence. These services reduce fall risks, extend safe aging in place, and relieve the burden of home maintenance for older adults living on fixed incomes.
Social Outreach – Healing Through ConnectionLoneliness and isolation pose serious threats to senior health. Our Social Outreach program provides monthly social events, friendly phone calls or visits from volunteers, and Holiday Outreach baskets filled with food and thoughtful gifts. Each touchpoint is a reminder that our seniors are seen, valued, and not alone.
SOS currently serves 11 cities in Northeast Tarrant County: Bedford, Colleyville, Euless, Grapevine, Haltom City, Hurst, Keller, North Richland Hills, Richland Hills, Southlake, and Watauga.
Every service we provide is offered with care, compassion, and zero cost to our clients. We are able to do this because of generous community support, grant funding, and the dedication of our volunteers.
