To provide accessible creative spaces, mentorship, and programs that empower transition-age youth (ages 16–25) to develop skills, build confidence, and create pathways to education and economic opportunity through music, media, and art.
Lucid Dream Center is a creative youth development initiative based in Long Beach, California, focused on supporting transition-age youth and young adults ages 16–25 through music, media, and the arts. We provide structured, low-barrier creative programs where participants can build skills, confidence, and community while developing real creative projects. Our work is rooted in the belief that creative expression can serve as a powerful entry point to stability, self-direction, and economic opportunity.
Our flagship program, Create & Connect, is a small-group creative cohort where participants collaborate with mentors and peers to write, record, design, and produce original work over a six-week period. Sessions emphasize consistency, skill-building, and completion of projects, culminating in a public showcase that celebrates participant growth and creativity. We also host workshops, studio sessions, and community events that connect emerging creatives to mentorship, resources, and pathways into education, employment, and the creative economy.
Lucid Dream Center is intentionally designed to feel welcoming and collaborative while maintaining structure and accountability. We prioritize safe, respectful environments, strong relationships, and hands-on learning. Participants do not need prior experience to join—only an interest in creating and growing. Our goal is to build a community where young people can explore identity, develop creative and professional skills, and gain momentum toward long-term opportunity.
As we grow, we are building partnerships with artists, studios, educators, and community organizations to expand access to creative spaces and mentorship across Long Beach and Los Angeles County. We envision a future where creative identity is recognized as a pathway to confidence, leadership, and economic mobility, and where young people have the support and resources needed to turn their ideas into real possibilities.
