Grassroots Coalition for Environmental and Economic Justice

The Grassroots Coalition for Environmental and Economic Justice is an international group of climate and social justice activists, with the bulk of the members being African. We developed a stronger, international Board of Directors in 2020. There are nine members (one in India, one in Cameroon, one in Zimbabwe, two in Uganda, three in the United States, and one senior nomad). Our Advisory Board has five members: three Americans, one in Uganda, and one Australian. Our Board of Directors is the backbone of our team. We started up the Coalition again after John died and Iona moved back to New Jersey with an online Board of Directors meeting May 1, 2020. Now we are meeting monthly with 67 international members via Zoom (see list in Appendix II). We kept our motto (Use it up, wear it out, make it do, or do without), created our new slogan: THE WAY FORWARD: CYCLE BACK TO BASICS, and our new word, INVINCIBLE: Too powerful to be defeated or overcome.
