The Scranton Area Foundation (SAF) is Lackawanna County’s Community Foundation. Its mission is to enhance the quality of life in the communities it serves. The Foundation accomplishes its goals by partnering with philanthropic individuals, community leaders and the nonprofit sector. The Foundation helps build permanent endowments, makes grants for charitable causes, serves as a convener to solve community concerns, and works to strengthen the nonprofit organizations in the region though leadership development. The Foundation currently manages nearly $27 million in assets and houses over 130 funds.
