Association for youth literacy and Trades Education

We are Asolate, the association of youth literacy and trade education, a local organization based in Rwanda. Our mission is to keep people off of the streets and help them to lead sustainable lives, where they are able to support themselves and their families. We are currently working on a project with a group of adults and children in Kigali, either living with HIV/AIDS or orphaned by it. We aim to help them rejoin normal societal activities, by helping them market their hand-made crafts, and sponsoring the children to go to school. We are working with 133 youth, and we wish to provide them with school supplies and provide their tuition. We recently purchased health insurance for the 180 members of our project, which we are very happy about. We are also conducting home visits and counseling, and spreading awareness on HIV/AIDS to other community members.
