La Causa, Inc

La Causa, Inc. was founded in 1972 on Milwaukee’s south side by a group of Hispanic women who had shared the same vision: to create Milwaukee’s first nonprofit bilingual child care center -- a place that would care for and nurture young children, while also honoring their Spanish language and cultural heritage. These women chose La Causa as its name, meaning The Cause.

Today, as we celebrate 50 years of serving this community, we continue to support thousands of children and families each year through our Charter School, Crisis Nursery & Respite Center, Early Education & Care Center, and Social Services divisions.
