Figment Phila

FIGMENT embodies the belief that everyone can make something of artistic value and that the arts can build a community of our best selves. Our mission is to build community through the participatory arts, inspiring personal and social transformation by creating cultural events and experiences in a spirit of participation and inclusion.

What began as a few thousand enthusiasts enjoying a handful of participatory art projects in 2007 has ballooned into an event in ten cities, three countries,and on two continents, including events in New York City, Boston, Chicago, San Diego, Toronto, Philadelphia, Washington (DC), Jackson (MS), and Geelong (Australia), and Oakland.

FIGMENT PHILA seeks to continue its mission to offer free, inclusive and participatory art to our entire community, removing the barriers of museum and gallery walls and entrance fees and blurring the lines between those who create and those who enjoy art. We are currently planning Figment Phila for spring 2016.
