Meals On Wheels Of West Los Angeles

Meals on Wheels of West Los Angeles is a non-profit, volunteer community service program. We deliver nutritious hot meals to the homebound, elderly, disabled, or temporarily ill persons living in the West Los Angeles area (zip codes: 90024, 90025, 90049, 90064, 90066 & 90077). The meals are delivered Monday through Friday between the hours of 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. The service is for all persons who may benefit from it regardless of income. Critical to our continued success are volunteer help (deliver meals, help in the office) and/or monetary donations from the community. As you know, food prices, gasoline and heating/air conditioning, and prescription drugs and medical costs are spiraling higher. Older Americans with limited resources are facing a real hardship just to make ends meet. As the economy continues to weaken, we're finding the demand for our service is up by 11% and donations are down by over 30%.

For 2008-2009 our program cost was $225,000 to provide over 40,000 meals.
