  • Misión

    Our mission at Highlanders Boxing Club/ HBC iron youth services was formed to address skill development, mentorship, and community engagement. The mission of the Highlanders Boxing Club/ HBC iron youth services is to prevent and/ or intervene early in youth gang violence and its associated problems such as school drop-out and drug/alcohol use. This is achieved through a comprehensive, multi-disciplinary mentoring program that uses volunteer adults as coaches that engage at risk youth (boys and girls) 8 through 25 in fitness training, life skills development, stress relief, youth empowerment and developing personal responsibilities. All of the young people in the program are from low-income neighborhoods throughout the INLAND EMPIRE.

    Highlanders Boxing Club/ HBC iron youth services has been serving the community for the last 20 years. Highlanders Boxing Club (HBC) provides the following services:

    • After School sports, fitness and training – HBC has vetted volunteers that help as coaches to young people ages 7 to 25
    • HBC partners with community groups to provide mental health services including drug and alcohol, suicide and violence prevention
    • HBC partners with the Urban Conservation Corps of the Inland Empire and works together to provide work readiness programming including one of our recent programs located at the Torres Martinez Tribe
    • HBC also provides recreational opportunities for underserved children and young adults and takes them outdoors
    • HBC sponsors an annual holiday toy drive and collects over 20,000 toys to distribute to over 3,000 low-income families from throughout the Inland Empire

    . HBC also provide free tablets & Wi-Fi through affordable benefits program that helps ensure household can afford the broadband they need for school, healthcare & more

    • HBC sponsors an annual turkey food drive during the Thanksgiving Holidays to families that would not be able to purchase food for the holidays
    • HBC also coordinates regular community events throughout the year to promote health, safety and awareness of issues most pertinent to our community such as, but not limited to: school bulling, sexual assault prevention and defense, environmental justice including recycling of electronic waste, Latino Heritage Month, obesity prevention awareness week and other topics of concern to our community
    • HBC has also been a leading agency that has been collecting face mask, food and water and has distributed these items to the general public during the COVID-19 pandemic
