CIR’s Patient Care Trust Fund (PCTF) is a nonprofit foundation founded and led by CIR members to advance patient care, health equity, and resident wellbeing in the New York City public health system. Through grantmaking and advocacy, we empower frontline physicians-in-training with the tools and resources they need to ensure the highest quality and most equitable care possible. In the last five years alone, PCTF has provided over $6 million in grant funding for medical equipment, research, and community advocacy initiatives led by CIR members in NYC public hospitals.
The House Staff Benefits Plan (HSBP) of the Committee of Interns and Residents/SEIU (CIR/SEIU), the largest house staff union in the country, operates three separate funds that provide health, legal, and educational benefits to resident physicians and their families who are members of CIR. While operated separately by the Union in accordance with Trust agreements, CIR residents enjoy exceptional health, legal, and educational benefits through the Benefit Funds that support their welfare and development as physicians, all at little or at no cost to members.
