Pay Our Interns

Pay Our Interns (POI) is a 501(c)(3) that seeks to ensure individuals from all backgrounds are represented across industries impacting their communities, and to develop pathways for advancement. Our mission is to ensure everyone has equitable access to paid internships, regardless of their socioeconomic status or location. We accomplish our mission through original research and data collection, storytelling, policy recommendations, advocacy, and outreach.

Pay Our Interns Action Fund (POIAF) is a 501(c)(4) that advocates and lobbies for policies and laws that will facilitate the eradication of unpaid internships everywhere. By organizing unpaid interns and lobbying for line item budgets, we strive to make our nation’s institutions better reflect and serve their diverse communities. In ensuring all people, everywhere, have equitable access to professional career paths, we can create a more equitable, just, and fair world.

Pay Our Interns operates two separate nonprofit organizations to maximize a nonpartisan agenda: Pay Our Interns and the Pay Our Interns Action Fund. This job posting refers collectively to the two organizations under the name “Pay Our Interns.” Pay Our Interns is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that advocates for more paid internships and expanding workforce development opportunities among youth. Pay Our Interns Action Fund is a 501(c)(4) non-profit organization that advocates on behalf of interns throughout the United States. POIAF aims to eradicate unpaid internships in all sectors of the workforce. The organizations share office space and employees.
