    IDEAL CANDIDATES: Former Peace Corps members, individuals looking to work with underserved populations, culturally proficient individuals who can work with students from a diverse background.

    PREFERENCES: Graduates in Math, Biology, Earth Science, Physics, and Chemistry related subjects. Bilingual in Spanish a plus.

    REQUIREMENTS: Candidates must have successfully completed their bachelor's degree - or ready to graduate - from an accredited university with a 3.0 GPA or higher.

    TTT PROGRAM: Is a federally-funded initiative designed to encourage interested candidates to transition into a teaching career. We are currently accepting applicatons for the next cohort of teacher interns who will teach along the U.S./Mexico border as they earn their M.Ed. degree and a Secondary (grades 6-12) Teaching Certificate in AZ.

    FACULTY:

    Dr. Etta Kralovec is Associate Professor of Teacher Education and Director of Graduate Teacher Education at UA South. Author of The End of Homework, Schools that Do Too Much and Identity in Metamorphosis. She holds a doctorate in philosophy from Teachers College, Columbia University. Dr. Kralovec was awarded a Fulbright Fellowship in 1996 to establish a teacher education program at Africa University in Zimbabwe. Dr. Kralovec works actively with End the Race to establish healthy homework guidelines, see www.endtherace.org/homework.

    Recently, Dr. Kralovec received a 2 million dollar federal grant to prepare science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) teachers for Title One schools in Cochise, Pima, and Santa Cruz Counties. She works closely with all 14 partner school districts.
