HomeAhead is a local nonprofit that helps families rebuild their lives by furnishing homes with donated items from the community. Our work supports both people and the planet by reducing landfill waste through reuse.

HomeAhead is a Boulder County nonprofit community furniture bank that collects donated home furnishings and provides them to individuals and families transitioning out of homelessness or experiencing financial hardship. Founded in 2018 and a 501(c)(3) since 2021, we help about 200 households each year, many with children, turn empty housing into comfortable and livable homes.

Our work reflects two core values: caring for our community and caring for the environment. By redistributing quality donated furniture, we reduce the financial burden of furnishing a home while keeping thousands of pounds of usable items out of local landfills.

HomeAhead also operates a furniture removal service that helps households responsibly pass along unwanted furnishings. This program generates revenue to support our mission while helping keep quality furniture circulating in the community instead of going to waste.
