  • Acerca de

Casa was built in 1914 by renowned architect and UC Berkeley alumna, Julia Morgan. It was founded in 1970 by Chicano/Latino students as a Latino residency. The Greenlining Institute assumed ownership of Casa in 2004 and re-created it as a multi-ethnic, academic-residential, collaborative center that promotes social justice, leadership development in a very respectful, hands-on and engaging environment.

Casa is the only residence of its kind on any college campus; bought by students over 40 years ago to house low-income, underrepresented, first generation college students. On the UC Berkeley perimeter, Casa is the only non-UC residential program yet offers the students the most resources. For more information please visit our website at www.CasaUCB.org.
