We empower Metro Detroit high school and college students to achieve their career dreams and become positive influences in their families, communities, and workplaces.

Founded in 1994, Winning Futures is a nationally recognized, award-winning nonprofit that helps students achieve their career goals and make a positive impact in their families, communities, and workplaces. Through our structured Workforce Prep Mentoring Program, students explore careers, set goals, and build life and job-readiness skills with guidance from a volunteer Career Mentor. Mentors meet with students for one-hour sessions, offering coaching, encouragement, and real-world perspective. We serve high school students in Detroit, Harper Woods, Hazel Park, Sterling Heights, and Warren. 90 percent are students of color, with many being the first in their families to pursue college or career training. Built on values like inclusion, positivity, teamwork, and relationships, Winning Futures has empowered more than 52,000 students and awarded $2.2 million in scholarships.
