Endangered Wolf Center

  • Misión

To preserve and protect Mexican wolves, red wolves and other wild canid species, with purpose and passion, through carefully managed breeding, reintroduction and inspiring education programs.

    Acerca de

The Endangered Wolf Center, founded by Marlin and Carol Perkins in 1971, participates in the managed recovery programs for the red wolf and Mexican wolf directed by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. The long-range goal of these programs is to increase the population and return these endangered wolves to the wild. We also are home to the swift fox, maned wolf and African painted dog.

Volunteer positions at the Endangered Wolf Center give participants the opportunity to learn about canids and the natural world. Your service to the wolf and other endangered canids helps to ensure the survival of these misunderstood members of the dog family.

No volunteer opportunities involve direct contact with our canids.

Junior Volunteers are between the ages of 14-17 and our full-time volunteers have to be at least 18 years of age.
