Sullenberger Aviation Museum

  • Misión

By telling the story of the people who shaped our aviation heritage, the Sullenberger Aviation Museum inspires future generations to write aviation’s next chapter.

    Acerca de

The Sullenberger Aviation Museum has a comprehensive collection of aircraft ,helicopters, equipment, and artifacts, covering years of aviation history. The collection includes US Airwarys Flight 1549 the Miracle on the Hudson, a restored Piedmont DC-3, a full scale replica of the 1903 Wright Flyer, a Delta DC-9, a F-14 Tomcat, a C-130 used during Operation Eagle Claw, and other various historical aircraft. Through our educational programs and interactive displays the museum provides something for all ages.

After 31 years of making history and imagination soar, Sullenberger Aviation Museum has begun an exciting flight into the future! We are currently closed to the public, but are proud to be working with the City of Charlotte, Charlotte Douglas International Airport, and internationally recognized firm Freeman Ryan Design to develop plans for a state-of-the-art new facility.

We plan to reopen in the summer of 2024. You can track our progress, donate, or volunteer by following SAM on social media and visiting our Prepare for Takeoff page.
