To educate and empower individuals and their families for quality living across the continuum of long-term care.

VOYCE helps to ensure a quality life for people living on the long-term care continuum. Our goal is to become the principal source of information and advocacy for these individuals and their families. We empower and educate those we serve. We do this by:

• Illuminating choices
• Providing a voice
• Giving compassionate and comforting support
• Building relationships with caregivers and the community

Our Ombudsman Program Empowers Those in Need

An ombudsman is a person charged with representing the interests of another, investigating issues or complaints and mediating a fair resolution.

We empower people in the long-term care community through our Long Term Care Ombudsman Program. It's one of the vital services provided by VOYCE.

Volunteer ombudsmen and staff? are trained to

• identify issues,
• isolate particular causes of concern, and
• skillfully resolve any challenges

with compassion and respect for those living in a long-term care community. Each week our ombudsmen spend four hours meeting with residents in long-term care settings, listening to their concerns and advocating on their behalf to find solutions.
