  • Acerca de

    Mission

The mission of the Adolescent AIDS Program is to improve local, national and global responses to HIV/AIDS among youth through innovative medical care, research, training, advocacy and community mobilization.

    Vision

Our vision is to help create a world in which youth are no longer burdened by HIV/AIDS.

    Who We Are

The Adolescent AIDS Program (AAP) is a program of the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx, New York, and holds the distinction of being the nation’s first adolescent-focused HIV/AIDS center. A model multidisciplinary program, the AAP maintains an ethos of caring, learning and teaching. In every aspect of our work with patients, health care systems and communities, we strive to maximize the health of all young people infected and affected by HIV/AIDS and to inspire them to reach their full potential.

    Who We Serve

In our work to reduce the burden of HIV/AIDS on young people, we are committed to serving and working with several key stakeholders:

    · All youth living with and at risk for HIV infection, especially youth of color and gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and questioning (GLBTQ) youth

    · Families, friends and partners of youth living with or at risk for HIV infection

    · Health care systems that provide care to young people

    · Community-based organizations serving youth

    · Public policy leaders with the power to improve outcomes for vulnerable youth
