Shands Healthcare and the University of Florida joined forces in 1999 to form UF Health Jacksonville - a place where exemplary medical care is complemented by outstanding service. Our not-for-profit medical center is licensed for 760-beds. With all the benefits of an academic medical center, including more than 750 University of Florida and community physicians, Shands Jacksonville offers advanced medical treatment and the latest in research in a warm, caring environment. With our main campus and neighborhood care centers, you will find the care you need in a location close to home or work. Volunteer opportunities are available in fifty departments on various shifts.
