Acerca de
Our Mission:
To advocate for children and provide positive family support and education.
Our Vision:
Every Child: Safe, Healthy, Happy
Dunebrook has been serving families since 1989 through home visitation, public education, and forensic interviewing.
Child Advocacy Center (CAC)
The CAC conducts forensic interviews of children who have reported abuse or witnessed a crime. The CAC conducts forensic interviews upon request of law enforcement and the Indiana Department of Child Services. The CAC’s advocacy services support non-offending family members from the moment they arrive for the interview through to case resolution. The Family Advocate promotes and protects the best interests of the child by offering the family a voice in the process.
Public Education
The Public Education program educates and empowers children to keep their bodies safe and teach adults how to prevent, recognize and respond appropriately to suspicions of child sexual abuse.
Safer, Smarter Kids (Body Safety) presentation for children in kindergarten through elementary school.
Safer, Smarter Teens for children in middle and high school.
Stewards of Children Presentation for educators, parents and interested adults. Dunebrook presents the program information at schools in La Porte, Porter, and Starke counties.
Healthy Families Program
The Healthy Families program serves expectant parents and families with children to age 5 who reside in La Porte County and are enrolled within 90 days of birth. This program offers parenting and child development education, goal- setting, developmental screenings, and linkages to community resources. This program is free, voluntary, and confidential. While in this program, families can earn points to use in the Family Depot when they achieve goals.
Nurturing Parenting Program
This program uses proven, evidence-based techniques that are recognized internationally. The nurturing program is designed to enhance empathy, self-worth, positive discipline skills, and empowerment. This program works on building caring families, is fun and brings families closer together. The Nurturing Parenting program is free, and the meetings are virtual or in person. Parents and children are welcome at the meetings.
Westville Little School Program
