  • Acerca de

OuTrop is a research and conservation organisation based in the Sabangau forest in the heart of Indonesian Borneo, home to the world’s largest populations of orangutans and Southern Bornean gibbons. Our research focuses on these two key primate species and, in addiiton, red langur monkeys. We also conduct a range of other biodiversiy research, including on butterflies, trees and cats such as clouded leopards.

We support the conservation work of a local Community Patrol Team, whose work includes fire-fighting, reforestation and damming canals.

We have been protecting Borneo's biodiversity since 1999.
